missing the big day

This weekend is very bittersweet for me.  One of my absolute dearest friends, Tana, is getting married!
Tana and I met about 10 years ago when we started working in the pharmacy at CVS.
She always surprised me with how much boldness and sass came out of her little 95 pound body.
We immediately became friends.

Tana is very laid back, trustworthy, and very goofy.  She is a friend that I can call and talk to about ANYTHING and she understands and never judges.  No matter what we are doing, we always have fun. She is an awesome friend.

Tana got engaged last year when we were here in Denmark for our first 3 months.
I was one of the first people she called and I just started screaming I was SOO excited for her!!!  Her fiance, Stephen, is the sweetest guy.  I’m so happy for them!
Tana asked me to be one of her bridesmaids and also asked Pearl to be a flower girl.
It really is such an honor to stand next to a friend on their special day.
As soon as I got back to NC from Denmark, me and Tana started planning.  We must have visited 20 different possible wedding venues, tried on dresses, picked out flowers, colors, and looked at cakes.

This whole time in the back of my head I was thinking it was a possibility that I will be moved back to Denmark by the time of her wedding.  But we planned any way.
I was so terrified and upset when I had to tell Tana that we were going to miss her big day.
It really really broke my heart.

So this weekend when I am in my pajamas chasing around Pearl, I will pretend that I am in a beautiful bridesmaids dress, sipping mimosas and helping Tana with her make-up.
